Pizzicato Five “The Audrey Hepburn Complex” (1986)

Today’s best song of all time. I can never get enough.

We have iPhone

Looks like KT has finally rolled that shit out. Now, how long until I can actually get my hands on one? (Korean cellphones suck. There, I said it.)

A Better Question: Is it Tax Deductable?

If Goldman Sachs’s much ballyhooed $500 million initiative to help finance/support small businesses is tax deductable, then all they’re doing is making us pay—with money that should be future tax revenue—for their pet project. So the real question is: are they using this “foundation” as a tax write-off? And if so, how can it possibly be argued that this doesn’t constitute yet another evil manipulation of the public?

Thanks for spreading the word about that Macheist bundle.

Well, I didn’t. I think, you meant my sister, yooniverse ^^

(Btw, am loving Writeroom at the moment!)

Oh yes, I’m a dummy! Of course I meant your sister. Thanks yooniverse!

/facepalm

Okay. Please. Please. Please. Can somebody explain to me how this made it past Slate’s editors? Do they even have editors? This is the kind of article you write with a loaded pistol (“so…so…tempting”) next to you on the desk.

Wow.

So one week ago, I caught wind of the French pop artist Jacno while searching for old electronic music on Youtube. On Nov. 5-6, I posted several Jacno-related music videos. Just now, I decided to search the blogspots (probably the best place in the world to find direct downloads of rare-ish older music) for some Jacno, since I’d liked the stuff I’d heard via Youtube so much. Here’s the first link I found. Apparently, Jacno (real name, Denis Quillard) passed away. The link in the title is to an obit in Le Monde. Jacno’s wikipedia page says that he died overnight between November 5-6. Just as I was discovering Jacno, he was on his deathbed succumbing to cancer. Truth is officially stranger than fiction.

Thanks for spreading the word about that Macheist bundle. I originally signed on for Writeroom, but have since become quite attached to Shovebox, which is proving invaluable for notetaking and casual online research. Shovebox even has a mobile app, so I can take notes on my iPod touch and sync them to my MacBook later. Cool shit, for sure.
